Schools across Mulbagal & Kolar District, Karnataka

This Independence Day, we're connecting the spirit of freedom with something every child needs but few are taught to protect: the freedom to learn, play and grow while properly hydrated. UNICEF reports that 447 million children worldwide lacked access to a basic drinking-water service at their school in 2023 — a gap that shows up quietly, in tired afternoons, headaches and lost concentration, long before anyone calls it what it is. Azadi from Dehydration is UZAK's school-based response: direct visits, honest conversations about a health issue that's rarely discussed, and a reusable bottle placed in every participating student's hands.

Har Bachcha School Mein

One Hour Every Sunday | Every Child in School | No Child Left Behind.

Across our communities, thousands of children are still deprived of their fundamental right to education. Many have never enrolled in school, while others have dropped out due to poverty, migration, family circumstances, child labour, or lack of awareness. Har Bachcha School Mein is a community-driven education movement launched by UZAK Charitable Trust to identify out-of-school children, motivate families, facilitate admissions, and ensure that every child begins or resumes their educational journey — born in Kolar District and now carried out statewide across Karnataka, with the goal of eventually reaching every state.

Healthy Smiles India

Oral health remains one of the most overlooked aspects of child health in India. Millions of children suffer from preventable dental diseases — tooth decay, gum infections, poor oral hygiene — due to limited awareness, inadequate access to preventive care, and the absence of structured oral health education in schools. These gaps are more pronounced in rural, underserved and economically disadvantaged communities, where access to preventive dental care is often limited. Healthy Smiles India is UZAK Charitable Trust's school-based preventive oral healthcare movement, reaching students from Class 1 to Post Graduation with awareness sessions, practical demonstrations, and a Healthy Smiles Oral Care Kit worth ₹500 per student.

India is witnessing a digital revolution, creating unprecedented opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment, freelancing and online business. Yet millions of women — particularly homemakers, rural women, and economically disadvantaged individuals — remain excluded from these opportunities due to limited digital skills, lack of confidence, and inadequate access to practical training. Digital Sakhi Mission is UZAK Charitable Trust's women-empowerment initiative, equipping women with practical digital knowledge and income-generating skills through a 10-hour training programme carried out statewide across Karnataka.

Many choose a course based on social pressure or incomplete information rather than a real understanding of what's out there, particularly in government institutions, rural areas and underserved communities where structured career counselling is often unavailable. SkillSpark India is UZAK Charitable Trust's flagship youth-empowerment initiative, delivering skill-based career guidance directly into classrooms.

Smartphones have transformed how students learn and connect, but excessive screen time has also become one of the fastest-growing behavioural challenges among children and young adults — linked to reduced concentration, poor academic performance, sleep disorders, anxiety, physical inactivity and weakened family relationships. Most students are unaware of just how much their daily habits are affecting their health, relationships and schoolwork. Digital Detox India is UZAK Charitable Trust's student digital-wellbeing movement, helping young people rebuild a healthy relationship with technology through experience rather than a lecture.

For many families, the hardest part of each month isn't earning an income — it's making sure there's still food on the table by the end of it. Rising prices, unemployment, health emergencies and unstable livelihoods regularly force vulnerable households to compromise on basic nutrition, and it's often women and elderly family members who quietly go without so children can eat. Har Ghar Poshan is UZAK Charitable Trust's monthly food-security initiative, providing complete family kits with dignity rather than one-off emergency relief.

So much attention goes into pregnancy and delivery that the weeks after childbirth — the so-called "fourth trimester" — are often the most overlooked part of a mother's journey, especially in rural and economically disadvantaged communities. Many new mothers return home without hygiene essentials, nutritional support or breastfeeding guidance, at exactly the point when their body and their newborn need it most. Swasth Sakhi Postpartum Care is UZAK Charitable Trust's maternal health initiative, built to make sure that gap doesn't go unfilled.
