This work is part of UZAK’s holistic approach to community development in Kolar District and beyond — pairing immediate support with the skills and systems that make change last. In practice, that means Nutrition & medical check-ups, early-childhood development, counselling & digital literacy, and sponsorship for essentials.

A child's development doesn't wait for the rest of their circumstances to improve — the years before school age, and the years around it, shape what's possible for the rest of their life, whether or not the right support is there. UZAK's child welfare work is aimed at that critical window: nutrition and medical check-ups, early-childhood development activities, and counselling for children navigating difficult circumstances at home.
Creative and digital literacy activities sit alongside the more clinical support deliberately, because a child at risk needs more than their basic needs met — they need spaces where they're allowed to simply be a child, build friendships and discover what they're good at. Sponsorship for essentials rounds this out for families who need direct, practical help to keep their children fed, clothed and in school.
