About this campaign
Har Bachcha School Mein — “Every Child in School” — is UZAK Charitable Trust's flagship education-access movement, built around a simple idea: a single hour, given by a single volunteer, every Sunday, is enough to change the course of a child's life. Rather than waiting for children to find their way to a classroom, the campaign sends trained community volunteers directly into neighbourhoods to find them first — counselling parents, resolving the practical barriers to enrolment, and staying involved long after admission day to make sure attendance sticks. What began as a pilot in Kolar District is no longer confined to one district — this is now a statewide movement across Karnataka, with the explicit goal of becoming a nationwide model for ending out-of-school childhood for good.
The Challenge
Thousands of children across Karnataka are still out of school.
Across our communities, thousands of children are still deprived of their fundamental right to education. Many have never enrolled in school, while others have dropped out due to poverty, migration, family circumstances, child labour, or lack of awareness. Har Bachcha School Mein is a community-driven education movement launched by UZAK Charitable Trust to identify out-of-school children, motivate families, facilitate admissions, and ensure that every child begins or resumes their educational journey — born in Kolar District and now carried out statewide across Karnataka, with the goal of eventually reaching every state.
The most common reasons: Poverty, migration, family circumstances, child labour, and lack of awareness.
The Solution
Here's how we're changing that.
A door-to-door model, run every single Sunday.
Every Sunday, trained UZAK volunteers give one hour to visit assigned neighbourhoods and find children who have never been enrolled in school or have dropped out along the way — in slum communities, tribal settlements, and families of migrant and child labourers. They meet parents directly, understand why a child isn't in school, and work with them to resolve it — coordinating with the nearest Government School, completing admission paperwork, and staying involved with regular follow-up visits until attendance becomes routine. What began as a pilot in Kolar District is no longer confined to one district — Har Bachcha School Mein is now carried out statewide across Karnataka, with volunteers repeating the same model, community after community.
You don't need to be an educator to be part of this.
Sponsoring a child costs ₹2,000 and covers a complete educational kit — a school bag, notebooks, a geometry box, stationery, a water bottle and the other essentials a child needs to walk into class with confidence. If you'd rather give your time, becoming a volunteer asks for just one hour every Sunday — visiting communities, counselling families and following a child's progress until they're settled into school. The movement is open to anyone: students, teachers, government employees, professionals, retirees, homemakers, NGOs, youth clubs, corporate CSR teams and community leaders have all joined in. Whichever way you choose to help, it adds up to the same outcome — one more child, back in school.
