The Challenge

Millions of women remain locked out of India's digital economy.

India is witnessing a digital revolution, creating unprecedented opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment, freelancing and online business. Yet millions of women — particularly homemakers, rural women, and economically disadvantaged individuals — remain excluded from these opportunities due to limited digital skills, lack of confidence, and inadequate access to practical training. Digital Sakhi Mission is UZAK Charitable Trust's women-empowerment initiative, equipping women with practical digital knowledge and income-generating skills through a 10-hour training programme carried out statewide across Karnataka.

The most common reasons: Limited digital literacy, lack of awareness of online earning opportunities, financial dependence on family members, fear of using technology and digital platforms, and limited access to business mentorship.

₹1,000 gives one woman a digital business of her own.

A ₹1,000 sponsorship covers the trainer, venue, learning materials and a Digital Entrepreneur Kit — a training workbook, an AI prompt library, a business planning workbook and a resource directory — for one woman's full two-day training. If you'd rather give your time, the campaign welcomes IT professionals, graphic designers, digital marketers, women entrepreneurs and CSR volunteers to mentor sessions, teach modules, or guide participants in launching their first online business. Every woman trained doesn't just gain a skill — she gains the confidence to earn, and often the encouragement for other women around her to do the same.
