What We Do
Dignity in every season of life.
Health camps, home care, shelter support and companionship help senior citizens live with dignity and stay engaged.
This work is part of UZAK’s holistic approach to community development in Kolar District and beyond — pairing immediate support with the skills and systems that make change last. In practice, that means Health check-up camps, home healthcare, shelter & nutrition support, and recreation & companionship.
3 real events conducted in this focus area so far — see them below.
Growing older shouldn't mean becoming invisible, but for many senior citizens in UZAK's communities — especially those living alone or without nearby family — that's exactly what happens once regular income and daily routine fall away. Health check-up camps and home healthcare address the physical side of that gap, bringing medical attention to people who might otherwise go without it.
Companionship and recreation are treated as just as essential as the medical care, because isolation carries its own health cost. Shelter and nutrition support for those without adequate housing or reliable meals completes the picture — the goal being dignity in the fullest sense, not just survival.
