Hands-on sessions covered calls, WhatsApp, digital payments and spotting online scams, one-to-one where needed.
UZAK Charitable Trust ran a Smartphone Utilisation Training for Senior Citizens at the BHS Learning Centre, Mulbagal, for residents aged 60 and above — more than 100 of whom took part in the hands-on sessions.
Trainers covered calls, messaging, WhatsApp, digital payments, Google Maps, booking appointments and accessing government and healthcare services, alongside practical guidance on spotting scams and staying safe online.
With one-to-one support built into the format, participants practised each skill on their own phones rather than just watching a demonstration — building real independence, not just awareness.
