What We Do

Poverty Alleviation

Relief that becomes resilience.

We distribute food, clothing and essentials, and pair immediate relief with economic empowerment for marginalised families.

This work is part of UZAK’s holistic approach to community development in Kolar District and beyond — pairing immediate support with the skills and systems that make change last. In practice, that means Food & essentials distribution, shelter support, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.

What we do here

  • Food & essentials distribution
  • Shelter support
  • Economic empowerment
  • Sustainable livelihoods

Poverty is rarely solved by a single intervention, which is why UZAK treats immediate relief — food, clothing and essentials for families facing acute need — as the first step rather than the whole answer. Distribution drives meet the need that's in front of a family today, without pretending that alone changes their circumstances tomorrow.

The longer-term work happens alongside that relief: shelter support for families without stable housing, and economic empowerment programming aimed at sustainable livelihoods, so that the goal isn't a family that depends on aid indefinitely, but one that reaches a point where it no longer needs it.
